Job Overview:


Responsibilities are maintaining the complex UNIX platform and further improving performance. Design documentation system compatible with the platform and operating system. Perform services to other departments on hardware and software components. Activities include operation and maintenance of operating systems across multiple platforms and high availability solutions and load balancing. Perform daily operation and maintenance of operating systems and platform support, system administration, capacity planning, performance management, security compliance. Also provide Support for systems management tools which monitor the operational status of the environment.


Responsibilities:



  • Direct the development, configuration, and implementation of new systems.

  • Modify, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot existing systems.

  • Evaluate current systems-related strategies; recommend changes to achieve users goals.

  • Maintain the complex Linux/UNIX platform, Multi-vendor Storages including EMC VMAX IBM Flash and SVC and Tape Drives Including and VTL as well.

  • Design documentation system compatible with the all the OS platforms, Storages and with Network layer.

  • Perform services to other departments on hardware and software components.

  • Operational activities and maintenance of operating systems across multiple platforms, Storage optimization

  • Management of Performance KPI's, high availability solutions and load balancing.

  • Perform daily operations and maintenance of operating systems and platform support, system administration, capacity planning, performance management, security compliance. Also provide Support for systems management tools which monitor the operational status of the environment.

  • Evaluate & implement AIX patching and hardening with minimal impact to the environment.

  • Analyze and resolve operating systems and applications issues on various systems.

  • Generate and maintain reports and documentation.

  • Remediate high-risk vulnerabilities and prioritized according to the recommendation in a timely fashion

  • Establish information resources that will be used to identify relevant vulnerabilities

  • Implement different OS patching and hardening with minimal impact to the running production environment.

  • Continuously assess and remediate vulnerabilities on all covered devices.

  • Implements best practices to comply with assessment results or remediate vulnerabilities

  • New test/production Environment creation for CRM, BNCC, Maximo, IIB, OSS area.

  • Cluster configuration for High Availability

  • Storage provisioning

  • Space Management for BNCC & CRM

  • Resolve any storage shortages

  • Manage current storage environment

  • Insure that data is available to all applications

  • Work with application developers to determine storage requirements

  • Work with existing programmers, DBAs to optimize storage

  • ExaData X4-2 support, performance tuning, SR Creation, password Management.

  • Conduction meetings for Upgrades and contract support documents SLA Solutions Meetings and Presentations.

  • Includes contract checking with respect to existing Domain and Renewal capex/opex Vendor Meetings.

  • DR Drills activities

  • T&D training participation


Control activities:



  • Install and configure UNIX operating systems and servers.

  • Support UNIX OS to run various software applications.

  • Maintain and upgrade the UNIX OS.

  • Install and test UNIX OS patches.

  • Develop procedures for AIX security and management.

  • Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results.

  • Develop performance improvement initiatives for UNIX system environment.

  • Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner.

  • Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of UNIX systems software and related hardware.

  • Plan and execute UNIX projects within approved timelines.

  • Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability.

  • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.

  • Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues.

  • Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects
